Angelina shares 5 easy skincare habits that keep your skin healthy and glowing.
It's a new year and we're all inundated with advice on how to "be better". Many of us are prone to making New Year's Resolutions and it's easy to get overwhelmed , even by trying to add just one new habit to our daily routines. I've fallen victim to this mindset many times and this year, I'm doing things differently! No resolutions. No promises to myself. Except to get up each day and live this life that is truly a gift. When we pile on too many responsibilities and try to "do it all", we can put self care last and skincare is often one of the first things to go.
Fortunately, we don't have to spend more than a couple minutes each day to get our healthiest skin. Here are the five most impactful things you can do without increasing the time you spend on your daily skincare routine.
1. Scrub your face regularly
Removing the top layer of dead, dry skin cells allows all your leave on products to penetrate the skin and do their work. You can explore all our exfoliating facial scrubs here.
3. Wash Your Face Every Night
This is an absolute must in my book.No matter how tired you are at the end of the day, give your face a good, gentle wash. Apply some moisturizer before bed and you'll thank yourself in the morning!
4. Wear Sunscreen
I'll be the first to admit that I LOVE being in the sun. And I'll never stop working and playing outside. Wearing a natural mineral sunscreen is the number one way to keep our skin from prematurely aging and breaking down. All of our "day" creams have an spf of 15 and our Broad Spectrum Mineral Sunshade Lotion is spf 30+.
5. Clear Out Old Makeup
Many of us tend to hold onto makeup long after it expires. The ingredients in makeup can oxidize and break down in other ways over time. Letting go of cheap makeup made with synthetic ingredients is an easy way to invest in your health. Starting with replacing unhealthy products with come "clean" beauty formulas that sit directly on your skin like makeup primer and foundation can go a long way towards keeping your skin clear and healthy. Fortunately, there are dozens of high quality "green" makeup brands on the market now to choose from. Washing those makeup brushes regularly kills unhealthy bacteria and other microbes, minimizing the possibility of breakouts and irritated skin.
