A Little Piece of aos Grows at the Tumalo Lavender Farm

If you've ever driven down a country lane in Central Oregon in the summer, you've probably noticed the fields of purple stretching across the landscape. The scent of lavender drifts through the warm air, bees hum from bloom to bloom, and for a few weeks each year, it feels like the entire countryside is celebrating the season.

That's exactly what's happening right now at Tumalo Lavender Farm!

Over the years, we've been fortunate to build a wonderful relationship with the folks there, where we source the lavender essential oil and lavender hydrosol used in many of our formulations. Every time we receive a fresh delivery, we're reminded that these ingredients come from a real place, grown by real people who care deeply about their craft.

A relationship rooted in place

We spend a great deal of time thinking about where our ingredients come from.

Whenever possible, we love working with small farms that share our commitment to quality, thoughtful growing practices, and respect for the plants. Knowing the people behind an ingredient gives us confidence not only in its quality, but also in the care that went into every step before it ever arrives at our lab.

That connection is something we value deeply, and Tumalo Lavender Farm has been part of that story for many years.

From the fields to our formulas

Harvest season is one of our favorite times of year.

The lavender is carefully grown, harvested at just the right time, and carefully distilled into beautifully fragrant essential oil and hydrosol. From there, those ingredients make their way into our formulations, where they become part of the skincare you use every day.

When you reach for an aos product made with lavender, you're holding more than a botanical ingredient. You're holding a little piece of Central Oregon, a season of careful cultivation, and a relationship we've been grateful to nurture over many years.

If you're nearby, it's worth the trip!

If you live in Central Oregon or happen to be visiting this summer, we highly recommend spending some time afternoon at Tumalo Lavender Farm.

They're open to the public and throughout the season, they host wonderful events where you can wander through the blooming lavender fields, enjoy live music, participate in workshops, and experience firsthand the place where one of our favorite ingredients begins its journey.

There is something incredibly special about standing in the fields, breathing in the fragrance, and seeing the source of an ingredient before it ever becomes part of a bottle of skincare.

Thank you for supporting not only aos, but also the small farms and families whose work makes what we do possible. We believe skincare begins long before formulation, and we're grateful to share a little piece of that journey with you.
