Do you keep some of your skincare in the refrigerator?
When it's hot out, I like to have my favs ready and waiting to give my skin instant relief from the heat and sun. Today, I thought I'd share one of my favorite easy summer skin recipes. It cools you off quickly and takes the heat out of a sunburn. I find it soothes bug bites too!
The two products I always keep in the refrigerator are the Cooling Aloe Rescue Gel and the Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol.
DIY Cryo-Pops Recipe
Make beautifully skin soothing herbal ice massage pops in just a few minutes.
1. Our Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol makes the best cryo-pops. If you don’t have it on hand, make a cup of herbal tea. Use cooling herbs like peppermint, chamomile, green tea and jasmine blossoms. Butterfly pea flowers are calming, rich in antioxidants and create a soothing blue color.
2. Strain and cool the tea.
3. If you like, add some fresh cucumber juice and aloe vera.
4. Fill mini silicone ice cube trays (or silicone candy mold trays) with your Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol or herbal mixture and freeze. *Get fancy and add a popsicle stick (it makes it easier to hold on). If you have popsicle molds, use those- just be sure to label your creations so others don't accidentally eat them!).
HOW TO USE:
When you need to reduce redness and relieve heat, pop one out and massage your skin with it. Keep the ice moving so you don't overdo the cooling effect. Take a few minutes and breathe deeply. You are loved.
If you don't use the entire cube at once, put it right back in the freezer for later.
Follow with your favorite soothing serum (the Calming Facial Oil and Apple Stem Cell Radiance Serum are both great choices). Layer on a good moisturizer.
