Skin Type 7: DRY + SENSITIVE & RED

SKIN TYPE #7

DRY + SENSITIVE / RED

Does your skin often feel persistently dry, tight, or reactive? Dry, sensitive skin requires a carefully balanced approach—one that supports the skin’s natural barrier without triggering further irritation. Gentle, non-stripping exfoliants and calming plant actives can reduce visible redness, while omega-rich lipids and nutrient-dense butters replenish essential moisture and reinforce the skin’s protective lipid barrier. The result is stronger, more resilient skin that feels soothed, hydrated, and better equipped to retain moisture over time.

Symptoms of Skin Type 7

  • Skin feels dry all over
  • Skin is sensitive and prone to redness and / or flaking
  • The skin barrier may be compromised, causing it to be easily irritated
  • Skin may react negatively to a lot of skincare products

Product Recommendations for Skin Type #7

STEP 1: Cleanse
When cleansing, it's important to get your skin clean without stripping your natural oils or damaging your moisture barrier. Cream based cleansers and gentle soap-free gel cleansers work best for Skin Type #7. Avoid soap based and high-foaming cleansers that can strip your skin, leaving it vulnerable and subject to irritation.

If you prefer a creamy cleanser, we Recommend using the Youth in Bloom Hydrating Cleanser. Would you rather use a foaming gel cleanser? The Apple Chamomile Cleansing Gel is your friend.

STEP 2: Exfoliate & Mask
Exfoliating (removing dead skin cells) once or twice a week allows your leave-on products to work better. Masks can also be deeply nourishing, concentrated treatments designed to be used once or twice a week.

EXFOLIATE: When you remove dead skin, a chemical signal is sent down into the dermis to stimulate new cell formation - your skin literally gets younger! The trick is exfoliating without causing irritation.
Scrubs: Gentle scrubs with round particles (like spherical jojoba wax beads) can polish off dead skin cells without catching and damaging live skin. Avoid scrubs made with angular particles like sugar, salt, walnut and apricot.
Chemical exfoliants may be suitable- do a patch test first and stick with the more gentle acids like lactic (sugar based) and mandelic (from apples). Fruit based AHAs and glycolic acids may be too strong for Skin Type #7.

NOURISHING MASKS: Replenishing and calming facial masks are recommended once or twice a week or as-needed. Look for masks with calming botanicals like raw honey that will gently feed your skin.

SCRUB:
We Recommend the Cucumber Face Polish (2-3 times a week).
CHEMICAL: We Recommend the Coconut Lactic Peel (1-2 times a week. Do a patch test first)
NOURISHING MASK: We Recommend the Honey Avocado Rescue Mask (twice a week or as needed for deep hydration)

STEP 3: Tone & Restore pH
Toners remove any little bits of dirt and makeup after you cleanse and restore your skin's slightly acidic pH after you cleanse (cleansers are slightly basic). You can use a toner for a quick no-rinse cleanse. Avoid toners with alcohol and synthetic fragrances and look for one that's specifically calming.

We Recommend
the Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol. Use it as a toner and as a mid-day refreshing mist.

STEP 4: Treat
Dry, sensitive skin craves hydration and soothing ingredients. Serums and facial oils are packed with powerful ingredients in a base that can effectively deliver those ingredients into the skin. Look for products with calming plants like chamomile, calendula, pea extract and plant stem cells to build up your moisture barrier.

We Recommend
applying the Apple Stem Cell Radiance Serum in the morning underneath your moisturizer and, in the evening, a few drops of the Calming Facial Oil under your nighttime moisturizer.

STEP 5: Moisturize

A good facial moisturizer will not only hydrate your skin- it will deliver nutrients, calm redness and protect you from damaging UV rays during the day. Look for moisturizers with mineral sunscreen for the morning and calming ingredients like marshmallow, plantain, pea extract, raw honey, shea butter, cocoa butter and calendula.

We Recommend the
Apple Stem Cell Daily Radiance Cream spf 15 in the morning and
Herbal Night Cream in the evening.
